When using a diamond saw blade, dressing is inevitable to ensure the blade operates efficiently. Below is the correct method for dressing diamond saw blades.

1. Before using a new dresser, disengage the feed from the last dressing operation. Many brittle diamond dressing tools are prone to damage when they first come into contact with the grinding wheel.

2. Install the diamond dressing tool head at a 10°-15° angle, directing it toward the rotation direction of the grinding wheel.

3. Securely mount the dresser or clamp the dressing tool, ensuring that the tool head is not suspended too long.

4. If possible, use coolant. Apply coolant at the contact point between the dressing tool and the grinding wheel throughout the entire dressing process.

5. When starting the dressing process, begin at the highest point of the grinding wheel, usually the center of the wheel.

6. Perform light dressing. The maximum depth of dressing should be: for coarse dressing, 0.001 to 0.002 inches; for fine dressing, 0.0005 to 0.001 inches.

7. Select the appropriate transverse movement speed according to the relevant manual. The slower the transverse movement speed (within the allowable range), the lower the surface roughness of the grinding wheel.

8. Dress the grinding wheel at the specified time intervals to prevent it from becoming dull, which would increase the grinding force.

9. Within the prescribed time intervals, rotate the dressing tool in the tool holder by 1/8 turn to ensure the dressing tool remains sharp.

10. When the diamond dresser or tool head becomes dull or noticeably flattened, it should be promptly adjusted or replaced.

11. Choose the appropriate diamond CARAT value (pure diamond content) according to the diameter of the grinding wheel. The larger the wheel diameter, the higher the selected diamond CARAT value.
